Use the frequency contours to assess long-hop paths; shading shows night. Station dots are measurements, the field between them is modeled. Timestamp is printed on the map.

Kp 5 begins geomagnetic storm levels. Higher activity can disrupt HF, particularly on polar paths.

Bars compare report volume across bands. No reports ≠ a closed band. Receivers are distinct callsigns on these paths, wherever they are located.

Recent pairs, not every report. WSPR weak-signal reception does not guarantee SSB or CW contacts. Map: Natural Earth.
Sources, freshness & reading the conditions
HF outlook and solar context: Paul Herrman NØNBH / HAMQSL, with underlying solar data credited by that service to NOAA SWPC, Space Weather Canada, Lowell GIRO, NASA and Fourmilab. General calculated Day/Night ratings are displayed directly from the source, not generated from report counts. They are not a Rocky Ford path forecast. The field and HF noise estimates are global source indicators, not measurements at your antenna.
Refresh: the page checks on opening, on Refresh, and every five minutes while visible. The HAMQSL feed is cached on this local server for one hour as its provider requests. Refresh cannot create newer source observations. Its feed time is displayed; readings older than three hours are flagged. NOAA solar flux, observed Kp and R-scale retain their own observation timestamps and independent saved-data labels.
Maps and imagery: KC2G MUF(3000km) is an interpolated long-hop model, not a local MUF reading. Source timestamp and station confidence are embedded in the map. Maps normally update every 15 minutes. Solar imagery is the latest available NASA SDO image, with its date printed inside; source outages can make either image older. Credits: Andrew KC2G, GIRO, INGV, WWROF; NASA / SDO and the AIA science team.
Activity: WSPR.live / WSPRnet reception decodes, using WSPR-2 and WSPR-15, for paths with either endpoint within 800 km of Rocky Ford (38.05, −103.72). Counts compare two successive 30-minute windows. Receivers are distinct receiving callsigns on these paths. Counts reflect transmitting/receiving participation as well as propagation; they are not QSOs or a voice-mode quality rating. Map lines connect reported endpoints, not modeled radio trajectories. Raw reports may contain errors.
Missing data: unavailable values show a dash, successful zero counts show 0, saved readings keep their source window and are labeled. Shared server caching limits repeat source requests: hourly for HAMQSL and every five minutes for WSPR. Saved results retain their original source times.
