AVRC Enjoys Parks on the Air at Bent’s Old Fort

Arkansas Valley Radio Club members enjoyed portable radio, fellowship, and a visit from a Kansas ham during a Parks on the Air outing at Bent's Old Fort.

Arkansas Valley Radio Club (N0AVH) members headed to Bent’s Old Fort on Saturday, October 10, 2026 for a Parks on the Air (POTA) outing, bringing portable amateur radio stations, good company, and plenty of enthusiasm for getting on the air.

The gathering combined radio operating with a chance to spend time together outdoors. Participants set up equipment at the site, gathered around the stations, and enjoyed a day of radio and conversation.

A visiting amateur radio operator from Kansas also stopped by, giving the group an opportunity to meet another ham and share the experience.
